Together with partner, APA Group, Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers (WesCEF) has published a knowledge sharing report that explores the potential of green hydrogen production and transportation in Western Australia.
With funding from Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), WesCEF and APA Group spent almost 12 months scoping the feasibility of the Parmelia Green Hydrogen Project, which will produce green hydrogen via electrolysis of water using renewable electricity and then transport the hydrogen to WesCEF’s Kwinana-based Ammonia plant via APA’s repurposed Parmelia Gas Pipeline (PGP).
APA Group is assessing the ability to convert the southern 43-kilometre section of the PGP to transport pure hydrogen – an achievement that would be a first in Australia.
The feasibility study learnings are available online at Parmelia Green Hydrogen Project Feasibility Study – Summary Report – Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)
